Matt Perry serves as President of National Sports Services. As President, Perry is actively involved in all phases of company operations, including servicing current clients and developing new stadiums, franchises, and multi-purpose sports and recreation venues across the nation.
Perry’s extensive background includes over 35 years of ownership and operations of sports franchises. He has been responsible for and/or involved with the entertainment of millions of fans at sporting events. Over the years, Perry has received industry honors for excellence in franchise operations and has been a frequent speaker at seminars targeting team and stadium operations.
Perry has been involved with the development of numerous spectator facility projects, several from concept to completion, to include programming, project budgeting, developing the funding plan, selling premium sponsorships, securing facility users, negotiating facility leases and opening new facilities.
Prior to forming National Sports Services, Perry served as a top executive in all areas of day-to-day operations for the Midland Angels (Los Angeles Angels Double A affiliate), Columbia Mets (New York Mets Single A affiliate) and the Fayetteville Generals (Detroit Tigers Single A affiliate).
Perry is a partner and Manager for four summer collegiate baseball ventures: the Johnstown Millrats (Prospect League); the Lafayette Aviators (Prospect League); the Spartanburgers (Coastal Plain League) and the Wilmington Sharks (Coastal Plain League).
Current projects include stadium upgrades in Spartanburg and Wilmington, and sports and entertainment developments in North Carolina.
Perry’s path to the sports world began after he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising and a Minor in Business from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. He then earned his Master’s degree in Sport Management from Ohio State University. Perry resides in Lawrence, Kansas with his wife Kelly. Their three boys completed college and are gainfully employed, residing in Colorado and Kansas.
